QUEBEC CITY - Tando Composites, the leader in composite stone and composite shingles, is pleased to announce the promotion of Chris Powanda to Director of Business Development, Builders and Commercial Projects. Powanda joined Derby Building Products, the parent company of Tando Composites, in August 2015 as Regional Sales Manager for the Southeast. Since then, Chris played a vital role in driving growth and success, particularly with builders looking for authentic cedar shingle and stone veneer replacements.

In 2019, Powanda helped establish Tando’s premium brands, Beach House Shake®, the authentic composite shingle, and TandoStone®, the #1 brand of composite stone, within the multi-family, national builder segments, and national remodelers. Powanda has driven specifications for Tando's premium composite products through several of the top 15 U.S. multi-family developers, as well as some of the top single-family builders.
Morris noted that, in addition to helping to develop new products, Powanda serves as Derby’s resident installation expert for the channel. His expertise, dedication, and leadership have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients.
Powanda resides in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife and two daughters.
